Lyon Vastia

Lyon Vastia is an Ice-Make Mage of Lamia Scale and its current ace. He is also the rival of Gray Fullbuster, and was first introduced as Reitei Lyon. Lyon served as the main antagonist to Team Natsu during the Galuna Island incident. Lyon is a slim young man of average height with a muscular and toned body. He has bluish silver hair, most of which are spiky strands that jut upwards on top of his head, except for some which are kept pointing down and partially cover the upper left part of his face. Lyon’s eyes are slanted, with dark round pupils and surrounded by similarly dark lines. He has small, linear, dark eyebrows.

During his first appearance, he donned a small, light-colored earring on his left earlobe, which takes the shape of a stylized snowflake. After joining Lamia Scale, Lyon had the guild stamp imprinted on his right pectoral, in the same spot where Gray Fullbuster has his own Fairy Tail stamp. Upon Team Tenrou's return seven years later, the only difference in Lyon's look is reappearance of an earring on his left ear, larger than his first one and seemingly consisting of a small chain as well. When first introduced as “Reitei”, Lyon wore an imposing outfit which initially hid his identity. He sported a large white cape, with a wide collar, golden edges and fur trimmings over the shoulders, held closed by belt, adorned by a stylized snake with rectangular coils, and its corresponding buckle, with more belts and buckles, placed a few centimeters away from one another and below the first, being left untied. Below this cape, Lyon wore a blue, high-collared tunic with golden edges, reaching down below his knees, with the part coming down from below the simple belt tied around his waist having an opening in the front. The tunic sported a large, dark cross-like design on the back, and is worn over a dark shirt, which was partially revealed and torn as a result of Lyon’s fight with Gray. Lyon’s outfit at the time also included baggy dark pants tucked inside armored greaves, composed of different plates and sporting knee caps, and an ornamental helmet obscuring most of his face. Bearing resemblance to a skull, this helmet sported a front part which covered Lyon’s upper face, revealing his mouth and nose, with a line of sharp teeth beneath it, and Lyon’s eyes not being visible from the eye slits of the mask, which was adorned by a spiraling motif. The helmet also came equipped with striped horns pointing frontwards and with a large crest made of spiky fur, falling on Lyon’s back.

After joining Lamia Scale, Lyon switched to a less imposing, yet still showy attire. He sported a white jacket reaching down below his waist, distinguished by large, dark fur trimmings around the neck and cuffs, together with similarly dark belts circling each of his arms, one above his elbow, and another above his furry cuff. Below this jacket, Lyon wore a high-collared tunic reminiscent of his old one, but much shorter, just reaching down to his waist, and colored extremely dark purple, with lighter purple edges. The most distinctive piece of his outfit at the time were his pants, which appeared to be composed of snakeskin, with a pair of dark belts circling his thighs and an intricate dark pattern adorning the front of each leg, this consisting of many rounded, rhomboidal figures linked together, each possessing a smaller figure in its center. Lyon's pants were held up by a simple light belt with a plain rectangular buckle, and his outfit was completed by simple dark shoes with lighter soles. As Lyon welcomes Team Tenrou from their seven years of disappearance, he donned a new outfit. He retains a short, high-collared tunic, which is now dark in color and has light edges and cuffs, together with many decorative motifs on the lower part of the chest and sleeves; unlike before, the tunic's collar is now left slightly open. Lyon doesn't wear a jacket anymore; instead, his shoulders are covered by a dark mantle with a high collar and light, jagged edges matching his tunic. In addition, he appears to wear dark pants with light parts circling his thighs and gray boots. While typically cold and composed, Lyon had also once been ambitious to a fault, and takes his goals and dreams extremely seriously. He is very proud of his own powers and takes immense pride in possessing them. This had led him to attempt to revive the Demon Deliora, in hopes of surpassing his teacher Ur, who gave up her life to freeze the Demon indefinitely. Lyon also tends to get carried away by his emotions as well. After joining Lamia Scale, he has loosened up significantly, but still retains his impulsive nature. During the Allied Forces' meeting, he rushes off after Natsu Dragneel into the woods and towards Oración Seis' presumed headquarters, without even a plan of attack. He is also shown to be slightly arrogant, as shown in the Grand Magic Games Arc when he is talking to Sherria about his teammate Jura. However, when it comes down to it, Lyon is extremely quick witted and observant. He was able to discover Racer's weakness by watching the birds fly in the sky. He, much like Gray in this regard, ignored Sherry's obvious affection for him. He has also been known to have a grudge against Gray. He considers himself to be Gray's superior and tries his best to prove his superiority over him.

Mest Gryder

Mest Gryder is a member of Fairy Tail and a former member of the Magic Council and a former Division Head of the Rune Knights. In X784, he used his Memory Control to deceive the members of the Fairy Tail so that he could infiltrate the guild, while in actuality he was always a member of Fairy Tail who erased his own memories to successfully infiltrate the aforementioned Magic Council, using the alias Doranbolt. black hair, with a slightly outlined widow's peak, and complete with mildly long sideburns. He has large, bright emerald turquoise eyes, and thin eyebrows. The left side of his face is covered by three distinctive scars: the shortest one that points diagonally upwards in his left eye's direction, and "connected" by the longest scar, diagonally in the other way, to the similarly oriented one which goes up to his forehead.

Such scars harmlessly cover Mest's left eyebrow and part of his hair, passing over them. Hanging from Mest's left ear is a simple earring, with an elongated pendant attached to it. Seven years after Tenrou Island's seeming disappearance, Mest appears to have gained sharper, more defined facial features, has grown a small goatee below his mouth and slightly longer hair, with some messy strands covering his forehead and others jutting upwards from the top of his head. His left ear still bears the earring. When acting like a spy within Fairy Tail, Mest's attire consists of a pinstriped jacket with a high and wide upright collar, alternating red stripes to different series of orange ones, with distinctive loose brown arm warmers covering the sleeves from the cuffs to below the shoulders, each bearing a simple, undulated motif right below the upper edge, simple black pants and white shoes. Mest has also been shown in his Council uniform. This consists of a dark jacket, with light-colored edges and a pair of buttoned bands on each sleeve, worn over a lighter shirt bearing the dark ankh-like symbol typical of the Rune Knights, mildly loose, light pants held up by a simple belt, similarly colored gloves and shoes, and a light cape held in place by a rhomboidal buckle adorned by a gem. During his first appearance after the 7-year time skip, he dons this very same attire. After Tartaros' defeat, Fairy Tail's guild mark is given back to him by Makarov; it rests on his right shoulder. By X792, Mest has grown his hair out even longer, and the only thing he retains of his old look is the earring in his left ear. He now wears a dark high-collared, fur trimmed, form-fitting muscle shirt with leopard print around the collar and clavicle areas. For his lower body, Mest now wears simple jeans with a black stripe going up the side of either pant leg, a simple belt, and black shoes. Around his right bicep is a band, and around both wrists are light-colored wristbands with a dark stripe going through the middle. The mark of Fairy Tail continues to rest on his right shoulder.

Mest was initially avaricious, willing to do anything to attain a promotion from the Magic Council. He was even willing to infiltrate Fairy Tail. In order to keep up the facade of being a Fairy Tail member, he acted intelligently and used silly quirks to fit in, such as devouring snow to see what it tastes like and entering a river to know what it feels like. Despite of his self-interest, however, he still cares for others; he befriends Wendy Marvell and later saves her from a deadly attack, even after his position as a non-Fairy Tail member was exposed. He also openly admitted that the Fairy Tail Guild was not the same as Zeref or Grimoire Heart, he doesn't support the Council's idea of firing Etherion on Tenrou Island and erasing all the three groups from existence. Mest made an attempt to teleport the members of Fairy Tail outside the island, but they refused to leave. After this, Mest was seen fretting over the well-being of the guild and its members. During the year X791, when the news of the returning Team Tenrou reached the Magic Council, he said he was not interested, although he was visibly conflicted. When confronted by Makarov during the same year, who temporarily brought his memories back, he shed genuine tears of joy when he heard the Tenrou Group members were all safe. During the Grand Magic Games, Mest also shed tears of joy over Erza's victory in Pandemonium, proving that his care for Fairy Tail runs deep, even in spite of the fact that his memories of being a Fairy Tail member are gone. Mest possesses a strong sense of justice. He is willing to do whatever is right even If it means breaking rules, such as erasing the memories of the council and even Lahar on the royal family having a connection to Zeref's dark magic and even threatening Cobra's life for vital information after the assassination of his comrades in the Magic Council by Jackal. Makarov also remarked him to be a individual willing to sacrifice himself to protect the guild he loves, as he erased his own memories to infiltrate the Council more easily. Though the Guild Master also noted him to be a pain to deal with, as he was told not to erase his own memories and did so anyway. After he regained his memories as a member of Fairy Tail, he is shown to be a staunch believer in the guild's power, even attempting to dissuade Makarov from disbanding the guild. While the master explained the entire situation with the Alvarez Empire, that Mest was supposed to gather intelligence about, he is gravely concerned, and even cries while Makarov is informing him about going on what Mest saw as a suicide mission to negotiate with the hostile country, worried about his well being.

August

August is part of the Alvarez Empire as the strongest male member of the Spriggan 12, the protection guard of Emperor Spriggan. His epithet within the empire is the "Magic King" due his mastery of the countless Magics in the world.August is a tall, elderly man with long, white hair. He has a short mustache, and a lengthy, thin beard, reaching down to his upper torso. He wears a long, billowing, light-colored robe with tattered edges on its bottom portion and intricately designed linings on the sleeves. He keeps this robe tied together with a belt made of a seemingly rope-like material. August also wears a dark-colored cape, which juts out in spikes near his head and has the symbol of the Alvarez Empire emblazoned on its back. The cape is kept in its place by a long cloth tied around it and August's neck and held fast by a spherical shaped clip. He completes this outfit with black boots and a wooden staff with a large orb at its tip.

August is shown to be a respectful person, addressing Emperor Spriggan as "Your Majesty", unlike Ajeel's informal behavior. He is also very cryptic; giving wise statements to others. Despite this, he is rather protective of comrades, and says it is a painful thing to lose one. According to Jacob Lessio, he claims he has no sense of humor. August appears before Zeref and his fellow Spriggan 12 members and comments on the fact that Zeref seems happier than before, implying that it's because he found his answer to Ragnarok. Zeref replies that in Ishgar they actually call it the Dragon King Festival. At that moment, Yajeel appears bringing Makarov Dreyar in to have an audience with Zeref, and August, Dimaria, Ajeel, and Invel leave upon Zeref's request. He is later seen approaching Ajeel, having protected the Sand Mage with his magical barrier from Laxus Dreyar's lightning blast. Ajeel confronts him about his actions, while August states that it's painful to lose a comrade. Ajeel asks if August really thinks he would die from something like that, stating the old Mage has gone senile. At the meeting of the Spriggan 12, August bows his head and tells Zeref they are all prepared for the end; the war against Ishgar. After Zeref states he wishes for mankind to perish, August responds that they are but pawns. August then takes off towards the west to arrive at Fiore's eastern border with God Serena and Jacob Lessio, along with a force equal to a million soldiers; along they way they fly over Bosco and annihilate the country and all their guilds between the three of them. Eventually, they arrive at the eastern border and leave their ships, where they encounter Draculos Hyberion, Wolfheim, Warrod Sequen and Jura Neekis waiting for them.

August, alongside Jacob, remains completely uninvolved in God Serena's fight against his former comrades, and instead watches as he easily defeats them all by himself. August then continues to watch as God Serena's opponents launch a counterattack and leave him cornered; he stops Jacob from stepping in, citing that they rarely get to see God Serena's true power. The duo then witness God Serena utilize his various types of Dragon Slayer Magic and leave his foes in critical condition, after which August stops God Serena from killing them and comments on the latter being the Hybrid Theory: a man blessed by the Dragon Gods. The three Spriggans then make for Fairy Tail, but are halted by Acnologia, who strikes down only God Serena, leaving August utterly bewildered. As Jacob is about to use his Magic on Acnologia, August halts him, pointing out the Dragon King's strength. Having said that, August reminds Jacob about their primary objective; obtaining Fairy Heart. Later, after Jacob's defeat, when Brandish warns the Mages of Fairy Tail of the threat of August, the old wizard is briefly seen walking through a vast, empty landscape. Magical Aptitude: Known to be at a completely different level than that among any of his fellow Mages, August is rumored to in fact possess control of every single element of Magic there is, even being able to control more types of Magic than Zeref himself is able to. Magical Barrier: August can conjure a barrier of unknown shape and size that proved potent enough to protect those within from the likes of Laxus Dreyar's massive lightning blast that completely dispersed fellow Shield of Spriggan Ajeel's Sands of Death, leaving Ajeel astonished when witnessed. Magical Camouflage: August can camouflage his and others' Magical presence, preventing devices like Magic Radars to locate him and others. Immense Magic Power: August wields particularly terrifying reserves and strength in Magic Power, even being considered the strongest male and strongest individual of the Spriggan 12. His power goes so far beyond what the other Shields normally have at their disposal that even Makarov Dreyar, a member of the highly esteemed Ten Wizard Saints and Fairy Tail's Guild Master, was shown very visibly frightened upon simply remembering some of August's Magical capabilities at work. Even his fellow Shields Jacob Lessio and Brandish μ hold his might in very high regard, with the latter one stating that, of all Mages in existence, only the strongest women of the Spriggan 12, Irene Belserion, has a shot at defeating August.

Hargeon Town

Hargeon is a large port town. Hargeon is located in the southern part of Fiore, near Magnolia Town. Hargeon is one of the Fiore's ports and also one of its most beautiful old towns. The town is more prosperous and renowned in fishing rather than Magic, because only 10% of the people in the town have the ability to use Magic.

Like any port city, it has its own large marina, located in the southern part of town (though it was destroyed by Natsu Dragneel during his fight with Bora). In the town, there is also a train station and a public park. The town was the place where Natsu Dragneel and Lucy Heartfilia met for the first time, it is also where the criminal wizard Bora was luring women for human trafficking. He was later stopped by Natsu, Lucy and Happy with it's incident being averted. Natsu, Lucy, Happy and later Gray Fullbuster returned to Hargeon for traveling to Galuna Island during a S-Class mission. During the S-Class trials, Team Tenrou went to Hargeon to board a ship that will take them to Tenrou Island. In X792, Hargeon was seized by the dreaded Alvarez Empire with 300,000 men, 300 ships docked and 3 of the Spriggan 12 occupying the town. Lamia Scale and Mermaid Heel were tasked of liberating the town with only 200 wizards.

Heine Lunasea

Heine Lunasea is a soldier in the Alvarez Imperial Army, and a part of the Irene Squad, that serves directly under the Shield of Spriggan, Irene Belserion. Heine is a youthful woman with a slim figure and sharp eyes. She has dark-colored hair that hangs over her face and leans partially to the right side of her face while having two separate strands on both sides of her face. She dons a light-colored bandanna with lined design and a crescent moon-shaped hair ornament on the back of her head.

She also wears a zebra-patterned cloak with a crescent moon design on the back. It exposes the dark-colored full body suit she wears, noted to have net-shaped designs on the sides and on the forearms. There are various line borders that separate the two, coming in straight and curved patterns. Heine appears to be of a more serious nature than her partner Juliet, chastising her when she speaks too freely of their leader's homeland folktales. Furthermore calling Juliet out when she referred to herself as the "black angel", giving her a sense of witty retort to the obvious. Heine, along with Juliet and the rest of her squad, are sent to eliminate the Ishgar resistance located in Fiore's northern border, successfully defeating the first wave. While Irene talks about an old folktale of Mt. Zonia, she chastises her partner for whimsically talking about their leader's homeland, while retreating back when Juliet returns the favor, questioning her own words. Irene likens the comparison of the black and white angel she spoke of to the duo; Heine dismissing the idiocy of her partner's comments. Irene then wonders who would come out victorious between the two girls, only to mention it was only a joke, calming their nerves. Heine then watches Irene completely alter the snowy mountain's climate, standing in awe of her power.

Juliet Sun

Juliet Sun is a soldier in the Alvarez Imperial Army, and a part of the Irene Squad, that serves directly under the Shield of Spriggan, Irene Belserion. Juliet is a youthful woman with a childlike figure, unlike her partner. She has light-colored hair in short pigtails that are held up with dark-colored bows, with straight-cut bangs hanging slightly over her face. She wears a light-colored coat that ends in a skirt with frills at the end and having various straps over its surface. She wears fur-lined snow boots.

Unlike the more serious nature of her partner Heine, Juliet is more of a happy-go-lucky character, speaking freely towards their leader Irene's birthplace when the latter speaks of some of its history. She is also somewhat ditsy, with her not properly diagnosing the compliment from Irene of being the "white angel" she spoke of, claiming she wanted to be its counterpart. Juliet, along with the rest of the Irene Squad, are sent to eliminate Ishgar's resisting northern forces, successfully defeating the first wave. While Irene talks about an old folktale of Mt. Zonia, she gleefully compliments her knowledge of the country, only for her partner to chastise her for talking so freely of their leader's birthplace. Juliet questions Heine if she was in the right to mention it as well, while Irene likens the comparison of the black and white angel she spoke of to the duo; Juliet exclaiming she wants to be the black one. Irene then wonders who would come out victorious between the two girls, only to mention it was only a joke, calming their nerves. Juliet then watches Irene completely alter the snowy mountain's climate, cheerful at the expected power of her leader.

Irene Belserion

Irene Belserion is part of the Alvarez Empire as the strongest woman of the Spriggan 12, the protection guard of Emperor Spriggan. She also leads the Irene Squad, her own personal squad, within the Empire. She is regarded as the "Scarlet Despair" in the Empire, due to her peerless magnitude of power. Irene is a seemingly tall, voluptuous woman with large amounts of scarlet hair thickly braided and located in the front and back of her body as pairs, all of which have bows near its ends. The frontal braids also have two ornaments near the upper sections. Also, the woman has two U-shaped earrings on her ears, while donning a light-colored lipstick.

For clothing, Irene dons a scanty version of the typical witch's garb. Her dark-colored top has a diamond-shaped opening, exposing a portion of her breasts, and a heart-shaped pattern around the borders. It extends down to the naval of her stomach where it meets a large angular scar, is draped over by a dark-colored cape with a light-colored inside and two medallion-like ornaments, and is held together by a chain. Not left bare, too, her neck is decorated by other small cloth-based accessories, including a wide bow. Additionally, Irene wears an elongated dark-colored loincloth with the symbol of the Alvarez Empire emblazoned on its front, having light borders on its edges and being connected to another cloth piece with the very same heart-shaped design. She also wears dark thigh-high boots with a light-colored border near the top and gloves of the same color and design, only having claw-like extensions. Her witch's hat is much larger than her head and possesses dreadlock designs with white bandaging near its ends. It also has a fur lining near its edges. Irene has shown to be knowledgeable, showcasing herself as a historian when revisiting her a folktale of her birthplace, while seemingly enjoying the counterbalance of a "beautiful story" of the two angels. She also has a humorous side to her, as seen when she wanted to see Heine and Juliet to do battle, only to later say it was a joke. At some point in her past, Irene crossed over from Ishgar to Alvarez to join the Empire and to follow Zeref, for reasons yet unknown.

Irene is seen walking with her two subordinates, Heine Lunasea and Juliet Sun in Zonia. She recalls an old legend about a white angel and a black angel clashing, in which the white one comes out victorious. Heine and Juliet praise her, and she comments that the angels were the spitting image of the two. She expresses curiousity at who would emerge victorious if Heine and Juliet were to fight, but later states that she was kidding. Climate Change: Irene has shown the power to change the climate, easily whisking away the snow that covered entire landscape of Mt. Zonia to a more spring setting, completely altering the territory. Immense Magic Power: Irene holds vast Magic Power, being the most powerful woman among the Spriggan 12 (which even Brandish μ acknowledged), and, alongside the strongest male member, the "Magic King", August, the strongest member overall. Neinhart, another Shield, even seemed somewhat afraid of Irene, sweating and trembling at the thought of Erza Scarlet being in some way related to her, as Erza's Magic Power is apparently of similar signature or potency to Irene's. She shown tremendous aptitude in her power, easily changing the climate of Mt. Zonia without much effort. Staff: Irene wields a massive light-colored staff in her right hand, matching, if not surpassing, its owner's height, and being divided into two large, inwardly curved antlers near the top; considerably below those, the weapon begins to be overlaid with leopard-skin that extends up to the antler's tips. It has yet to be revealed if the staff fulfills a specific purpose. She has shown to use her staff in conjunction with her Magic, simply by tapping the ground with the wooden artifact to induce her abilities.
